Why aren’t Bia seeds pre-ground?
Once seeds are ground they rapidly start to lose their shelf life; with flax seed for example staying edible for just a few days in the fridge when ground. For that reason we don’t sell our seeds pre ground. We highly recommend grinding your seeds in small batches to maintain a high quality of nutritional intake.A
What is the science behind seed cycling?
While there are various studies on the effects of individual vitamins and minerals on the menstrual cycle there is little scientific research on seed cycling. What we know about seed cycling comes from anecdotal evidence
Do I have to wait for a certain cycle phase to start my seeds?
No! Start seed cycling at any point in your cycle. Establish what day you are on in your cycle and start with the corresponding seed blend.
Can I eat other seeds while seed cycling?
There is little controlled research around adverse effects of seed cycling however there is the opinion that -
Seeds...can have quite a bit of phytoestrogens present and should be consumed mindfully while seed cycling. However, you would not want to eat sunflower and sesame seeds during the follicular phase of your cycle just as you would not want to eat pumpkin seeds and flax during your luteal phase.
Why do I feel more thirsty when I seed cycle?
Seeds are high in fiber so you really want to be mindful of this and probably up your water intake to avoid dehydration.
I'm not sure where I am in my menstraul cycle - how do I start?
If you’re unsure of what day you are on in your cycle because your period has gone missing for a while, look back to when you last had a period and try to establish your cycle based on the average number of days per cycle for you. If that is still unclear, you could use 28 days (the "average" cycle length).
If you are still unsure or are in menopause, use the moon cycle as your guide. The full moon is symbolic of ovulation and so you would begin with the Luteal blend and the new (dark) moon is symbolic of your period, so begin with the Follicular blend.
