Four Surprising Benefits of Seed Cycling

Seed cycling is a naturopathic protocol of consuming different seed blends during your menstrual cycle. The intention is to support each phase's dominant hormones with the seed blends. Beyond the effects seed cycling may have on our menstrual cycle there are a few other great benefits.

 

It connects us to nature

We are expected to live and work in a linear way at a consistent speed, churning out whatever is expected of us in the most efficient and productive way!🤯  BUT newsflash; we’re not machines and this way of working isn’t actually very productive if it causes us to feel stress, possibly resulting in burnout. It might nudge us to ask “Is my period soon?”  “Am I in my window of ovulation?” Whether we prioritize each cycle phase a little or a lot, this daily check-in is a form of self-care.

Nutritionally seeds give us so much – they also help with elimination! So many people in the UK are lacking enough fiber in their diets and we can change this simply by eating more foods like seeds. This fiber can help bind and remove toxins and excess hormones from the GI tract as well as regulate insulin. Remember to get plenty of water, however, to eer… help move things along.

 

Seeds provide “good” fats to our diet

We really don’t like to use emotive language around food, but many of us have been programmed to believe that the word fats is a bad thing. Thanks, diet culture! Fats however are legit essential to keep our bodies and minds healthy.  Seeds provide these “good” fats which become even more essential as we get older.
